Black Valve Media guarantees that finalized project renders will remain available for viewing and download through Frame.io for 30 days following the project’s final delivery date.

After this 30-day period, project files may be removed from Frame.io and are not guaranteed to remain available. Clients are responsible for downloading and safely backing up all final deliverables during this period.

Clients who would like Black Valve Media to continue hosting their finalized renders beyond 30 days may request extended storage for an additional fee. Extended storage must be arranged before the original storage period expires and will be priced based on the project’s file size and requested storage duration.

This policy applies specifically to finalized deliverables uploaded to Frame.io. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, it does not guarantee the retention of raw footage, editing project files, graphics packages, audio sessions, or other production materials.

Cloud-based video storage creates an ongoing expense rather than a one-time cost. Frame.io plans include defined storage limits, with additional capacity tied to paid plans, seats, or storage add-ons. The continued growth of cloud usage, data-center demand, energy needs, and infrastructure investment has also made long-term data management an increasingly significant operating expense for creative businesses.

We recommend that clients maintain at least two independent copies of their final deliverables in separate locations.

Why We Have a Storage Policy

At Black Valve Media, we believe your final project should remain easily accessible after delivery. For that reason, all finalized project deliverables are hosted in Frame.io for 30 days following final delivery at no additional cost.

Long-term storage, however, comes with ongoing costs. As our archive continues to grow, maintaining reliable backups requires additional hard drives, redundant storage systems, and cloud services. The cost of high-capacity storage hardware has increased significantly as file sizes continue to grow, particularly for modern 4K, 6K, and higher-resolution video productions. Cloud storage and file hosting also carry recurring subscription and infrastructure costs.

To keep our project pricing fair for all clients, complimentary storage is limited to 30 days. After that period, extended storage is available for an additional fee based on the size of the project and the requested storage duration.

We strongly encourage clients to download and maintain their own backup copies of all final deliverables within the 30-day storage period. While we make every effort to preserve archived projects, long-term retention is not guaranteed unless extended storage has been arranged in advance
